An Open Letter to the Scott County Board of Supervisors - Dec 18, 2013

The October 11 communication that Assistant County Administrator Mary Thee sent out to you and county staff speaks volumes about why you should table a vote on December 19 to implement a policy that destroys, after three years, any e-mails sent and received by county employees.

What is readily apparent is that the storage of said information is not the issue. It is the possibility of staff having to provide those e-mails to respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests or litigation.

Murdered Kelly Thomas Trial in Orange County Begins

SANTA ANA, Calif. (KABC) -- Opening statements got underway Monday in the trial of two former Fullerton police officers charged in the beating death of Kelly Thomas, a mentally ill homeless man.

Thomas died five days after a confrontation with police in Fullerton in July 2011. Former officer Manuel Ramos is charged with second-degree murder and involuntary manslaughter, and former corporal Jay Cicinelli is charged with involuntary manslaughter and use of excessive force.

Corey Updates Us on His Case in CA

Corey's case in Orange County regarding no driver's license has been reduced from a misdemeanor to a an infraction, meaning there is no possible jail time and he no longer has a public defender who can assist him with subpoenas or interrogatories or discovery (e.g. use the system to prove he does not identify himself as the birth certificate or ssn or voter registrant by requesting the applications).

TSA Worker Slain - Will Lead to Armed TSA Workers

OUR PREDICTION:
In the advent of the slain TSA worker "in the line of duty" at LAX, the overlords in DC will push for the blue shirts to further improve their costumes with the next stage prop, a loaded weapon. If I was a TSA worker and one of my brethren was slain, I would want a weapon, too. This will be the way the overlords introduce Homeland Security as weaponized. If we are used to seeing DHS workers in blue with guns tell us what to do in the airports, then when we see these same workers showing up at our local restaurant or outdoor festival or sporting event, we will be much more likely to accept that as normal as well. It's sick how this is mapped out.
