Advice for Occupy Your Town Efforts

In the spirit of solidarity with those who also recognize the status quo is unacceptable, I offer the following unsolicited advice, observations, and musings to all who feel a desire to take civic action and get involved in such a project here locally.

Determine what your desired outcomes – demands if you will – are and establish a method to measure those locally first. Change will not come from the top down. The single-party duopoly system wants you to believe that if you pit yourself against your neighbor and just beat the so-called other team, all your problems will be solved. The modern-day Tea Party movement was co-opted by the single-party system and mainstream media propagandized most into complacency when it comes to taking action locally. Don't make the same mistake and become a pawn of the so-called Left, like many in the Tea Party movement have become hapless pawns of the so-called Right.

The Liberty Pamphlet

By Michael D. Elliott, September 2011

Man-made law must base its authority on natural law to allow true peace. The first law of nature is self-preservation, defined by three branches of an individual’s natural rights: Life, Liberty, and Property. When man-made laws defend against violations of these rights, peace and justice can prevail.

On the other hand, when laws place collective force at the disposal of those who would use it to exploit others, injustice prevails and there will be unrest in society. It does not matter if the exploitation applies to health, labor, education, safety, or religion. The law becomes legalized plunder, blurs society's understanding of justice and injustice, and disguises anarchy as order. Since people naturally rebel against injustice, unrest ensues.

True peace can be achieved only when man-made law obeys natural law, when justice is blind, and individual natural rights are protected.

We Agree

The Republican/Democrat duopoly has, for far too long, ignored the most important issues facing our nation. However, alternate candidates Bob Barr, Chuck Baldwin, Cynthia McKinney, and Ralph Nader agree with Ron Paul on four key principles central to the health of our nation. These principles should be key in the considerations of every voter this November and in every election.
