Today's Third Rail Topics:

Corportacracy

How much more evidence do you need that your government is not a government, but a corporate for profit business, with the power to steal your property, via the false sheen of authority that we the sheeple have given them through sitting on our hands?

In Davenport, Iowa the city attorney is referred to as "corporation counsel."
What is your city attorney referred to in your town?

Hypocrisy of Federal Government Spending

A group of tea party activists led by William Temple, chair of Freedom Jamboree and the Tea Party National Straw Poll Convention, held a press conference targeting House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), Representative Paul Ryan (R-WI) and other members of Congress for abandoning their promise not to raise the debt ceiling and not doing enough to get U.S. debt under control.

Never Gonna Be Without the Threat of Terrorism?

HR 495 Seeks to Provide Immunity for Turning Your Neighbor In for Suspicious Activity

Okay... a couple items not directly related but when coupled together, paint a chilling picture of how this Leviathan national government has gotten completely out of control.

Watch this clip of Janet Napolitano at a May 4 senate hearing on DHS

And note the discussion about training local law enforcement through federal grants to recognize a "lone wolf" locally and then the senator's request for support in legislation that would provide immunity from civil action for turning in your neighbor for suspicious activity, if you are sued by your neighbor for doing so... as long as they turned you in "in good faith"

HR 495 "To amend the Homeland Security Act of 2002 to provide immunity for reports of suspected terrorist activity or suspicious behavior and response."

I can barely watch this stuff.

Then read this piece below on how our tax dollars are funding anti-muslim hatred.
What is driving the economy in this "Post Bin Laden Era" (as one of the Fox news shills stated last week during the first GOP debate)?
This faux terrorism and national security is the dominant economic engine folks -- just watch the so called leaders operate in the clip above and laugh it up... and then read the article, below.

Your Taxes Fund Anti-Muslim Hatred

By Chris Hedges

News personalities, politicians, self-appointed experts on the Muslim world, and law enforcement and intelligence officials, as well as the Christian right, have successfully demonized Muslims in the United States since the attacks of 2001. It is acceptable to say things openly about Muslims that could never be said about any other ethnic group. And as the economy continues to unravel, as we face the possibility of revenge attacks by Islamic extremists, perhaps on American soil, the plight of Muslims is beginning to mirror that of targeted ethnic minority groups on the eve of the war in the former Yugoslavia, or Jews in the dying days of the Weimar Republic.

Scott County Iowa Supervisors Vote 3-2 to Adopt Agenda 21

NOTE: Audio file enhanced with more gain is available here -- Audio file only of May 12th Scott County Board Meeting

On May 12, 2011 the Scott County Board of Supervisors voted 3-2 to adopt the Scott County Sustainability Plan in order to influence fiscal policy to achieve behavior change in Scott County.

Video: http://youtu.be/Hg1AEdfb2AA

The board graciously allowed public comment prior to the vote -- which they rarely do as a Resolution does not require a public hearing -- and a half dozen people addressed the board. There were approximately 30 people from the private sector, citizens in the county, in attendance.

For more info, on the challenges with the County adopting this Plan, visit this page at the Scott County IFA Website
