More Taxes = More Democracy

My posting to their comments:
More perpetuation of the supreme myth that the United States is a Democracy... it was NOT founded as a Democracy, that is for certain. The term/word "democracy" appears NOWHERE in ANY founding document nor any state constitution.
The word "republican form of government" DOES appear in the US Constitution and many state constitutions.
this piece states:
>>> the two researchers emphasize that taxation "materializing the separation between the individual and the state is also the indicator of a social system that allows the individual to exist ... Objectively, taxation is the clearest sign of the preservation of a space for individual freedoms." Once his taxes are paid, each person is free to organize his life as he proposes - which is not the case for those who practice fraud and tax evasion <<<
How much more absurd can this get? Do these authors really listen to and believe what they write?! A "social system that allows the individual to exist"??!! What happened to the unalienable rights of the individual this country was founded on? "Once his taxes are paid, each person is free to organize his life as he proposes..." Free is a term abused and maligned here... free after the government determines your level of servitude... there is no freedom whatsoever in this equation.
We the people have allowed this republic to deteriorate into a democracy that is for sure. One more than 50% of the mob rules... and both major parties are gifting themselves from the public treasury to manipulate the left/right pendulum in cycles of "majority rules"... RATHER than follow and uphold the oath of office they took to maintain a "republican form of government" NOT a democracy.
This article and study is mythmaking and spin of the highest order.

And lest those of you reading this see this as strictly a left/right paradigm issue, be sure to listen to Naomi Wolf and Lew Rockwell discuss the differences between a Republic and a Democracy... one of the more enlightening radio interviews/podcasts you will listen to: http://www.thirdrailblog.com/wolf-rockwell-podcast
What I failed to add is: You are damn right!! The higher the taxation, the more preponderance for a government to retain a democracy where one more than 50% of the mob can be bought off by gifting themselves from the treasury, thus ensuring an oppressive and tyrannical democracy pervades.
